The beach This ocean front vacation accomodation is Condo 419 at Carib Ocho Rios, on the famous north coast of Jamaica, about 50 miles east of Montego Bay. Condo by the Sea is a 2 storey, 1 bedroom Condo (sleeps 4), with 1 1/2 bathrooms, kitchen, living room, cable TV, A/C, a balcony overlooking the Caribbean Sea with a beach for your swimming enjoyment.

Carib Ocho Rios is a beautiful, quiet, secure haven, on the coast, in the middle of Ocho Rios. You are within walking distance of the features of Ocho Rios resort town—grocery, hardware stores, banks, local shops and craft markets, open air vegetable and fruit markets, great restaurants and hotels (including the 5 star Jamaica Grande), night life, casinos or just a stroll to absorb the vibrant, unique culture of Jamaica and its very hospitable people. At the Carib compound of tropical trees, fruits and flowers, there are natural springs, 24 hour security and a controlled access beach.

We will provide you with great accommodations but we are not responsible in any way whatsoever for any damage, loss, delay, harm or expense resulting from inclement weather, acts of God, acts of terrorism, labour unrest, monetary crisis, theft, quarantine restrictions, civil commotion, or restraint by government action or any other actions outside our control.

Balcony Our staff: Our agent at Carib is Mrs. Mullings and she or her representative will greet you upon arrival, issue your keys and answer your immediate questions. Our housekeeper, Mrs. Forbes keeps the condo in beautiful condition. She will come in every other day, except Sunday, to clean up. Please tell her the time that you want her to arrive so that she does not disturb you too early.

Security: Your security is of great importance to us. In addition to the security post at the entrance gate there are three security posts with security guards at Carib Ocho Rios (the security gate, the entrance to the beach area beside Building1 and behind Building 4). Condo by the Sea is located in Building 4. All visitors must report to the security gate.

Breakage and Damage Deposit: If there is any damage or breakage you will be advised of the cost of settlement. Please pay Mrs. Mullings/Mrs. Senior for the replacement cost.

Toilet articles and Groceries: Grocery stores and a pharmacy are located nearby and in downtown Ocho Rios. See the Ocho Rios map for locations, or ask our housekeeper for information regarding their location.

Meals: We assume that you will to prepare your own meals. All the required cooking utensils are in the kitchen. If you want our housekeeper to prepare your meals, please negotiate payment for your cooking requirements with her. She may charge around $20.00US for cooking your meals.

HELPFUL HINTS

Beach Towels: We assume that you have your own beach towels. If not, we have some towels available. Please remember to return the beach towel to the housekeeper.

Telephone: You will be asked by the office to give a deposit to cover the charges for local telephone use. Your phone card will enable you to make overseas calls collect. Telephone number in condo is 1 876 795 1137. Mrs Mullings/Mrs Senior at the office is 974 0305.

Currency Information: Prices in Jamaica are usually quoted in Jamaican or US dollars. Please go to a Bank or Cambio to cash your Travelers Cheques. This is recommended over the street currency exchangers. There are a number of Cambios and banks in downtown Ocho Rios including The Bank of Nova Scotia and The National Citizens Bank. Arrival and Departure: Tourwise Limited (876-974-2323) will shuttle you to and from the airport at a cost of about $50.00US return. They have an office just east of Carib Ocho Rios gates. You may ask Mrs. Mullings about other Tour companies or private transportation (Mr. Mullings).

Departure Tax: A government mandated departure tax of approximately $1000.00Ja. may be collected by the airline at the Montego Bay Airport at departure checkout.

Laundromat: A Laundromat is located near the Carib compound gates for personal laundry. It costs about $350.00Ja. to wash and dry one load. Please ask the housekeeper for the location.

Downtown Ocho Rios: The walk to downtown Ocho Rios takes 10-15 minutes. You can call a cab if you wish to ride instead of walking. It is advised that you take a taxi after dark. The fare should be about $200.00Ja. The local public transportation have license plates with a PP sign. A ride in these costs about $20.00Ja., but they are usually crowded. You may wish to make your own negotiated arrangement with a taxi for transportation.

Car Rental: Please ask Mrs. Mullings/Mrs Senior for information on car rental. If you rent a car remember to drive on the left side of the road.

Medical: Please ask Mrs. Mullings/Mrs Senior if you need to see a physician.

WATER ACTIVITIES

Water Activities may be booked for an additional fee at the Water Sports Deck located on the beach. Water Activities include snorkelling, scuba diving, fishing, jet skiing, banana boating, water skiing and parasailing. You can also book a relaxing professional massage at the Gazebo on the beach. At Carib there is a lookout for relaxing, and friendly neighbours.

TOURS

You can book many Jamaican Tours right at Carib—to the famous Dunn's River Falls, river rafting, plantation tours, Fern Gully, Blue Mountains, Montego Bay, Kingston, Negril, coastal boat tours, etc.

Our on-Site agent Mrs. Mullings, and our Housekeeper, Mrs. Forbes, are both ready to greet you and take care of you during your stay. They are a fountain of information on Ocho Rios and Jamaica. For more tour information click here.
